What is Pay Per Click?

PPC stands for pay-per-click, a model of internet marketing in which advertisers pay a fee each time one of their ads is clicked. Essentially, it’s a way of buying visits to your site, rather than attempting to “earn” those visits organically.
Search engine advertising is one of the most popular forms of PPC. It allows advertisers to bid for ad placement in a search engine’s sponsored links when someone searches on a keyword that is related to their business offering.

Pay Per Click (PPC) ads are typically on Google, Bing and Yahoo showing relevant text ads in their search results pages (SERPs).  There are other variants to this Cost Per Click (CPC) approach that can get specific, such as showing ads to previous web visitors known as Retargeting or showing Google ads in Gmail accounts or displaying Google Pay Per Click advertising on YouTube and others websites that are part of the Google search network.
