by

Insider Media Management’s Senior Brand Journalist and Owner J.P. Hervis will join the Board of the Florida Organ Transplant Association. The 501C3 focuses on increasing the number of organ donors and is dedicated to improving lives of organ transplant patients, families and their caregivers. Hervis will support the Organization’s marketing effort by consulting and executing several programs including website development, content creation, social media marketing, branding and media relations

The Personal Story

The drive to promote organ donation is a very personal issue for Hervis. JP was his mother Olga’s likely last hope for a new kidney. She was suffering from advanced renal failure and was receiving dialysis treatment three days a week for almost 9 months. In February 0f 2017, Hervis donated a kidney to his mom. Following the surgery, she felt an immediate difference. Nearly a year later Olga Hervis has made a full recovery.

“What struck me about the entire process as a donor was how safe I felt before the surgery. I knew that every test possible was done for me to make sure my health would not be compromised in a way where I could not continue to be the husband, father and professional I strive to be” says Hervis. He adds his mother was also, naturally, concerned with his health because of her love for him and that he was a father of 3 children under the age of 3 at time of the surgery.

“My mom, my family and I are lucky. Too many people searching for an organ to save their life are not as fortunate. I wholeheartedly believe that if the general public was better educated about organ transplants…there would be more of them from coast-to-coast. That’s why this volunteer opportunity with the Florida Organ Transplant Association ideal.”
