Brandstory Communications Wins Award of Excellence at 31st Annual Communicator Awards for Groundbreaking Non-Profit Video Series
New York, NY (May 6, 2025) — Brandstory Communications has been honored with a prestigious Award of Excellence at the 31st Annual Communicator Awards, presented by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA). The award recognizes Brandstory’s outstanding work in the Series – Non-Profit (Film or Video) category for the emotionally powerful and visually compelling series, Expect the Unexpected, produced for their client, Gold Coast Down Syndrome.
The series was led by Brandstory’s Gary Widom and JP Hervis, who spearheaded the creative and production efforts to shine a light on the unique stories and experiences of individuals with Down syndrome. Expect the Unexpected captivated audiences and judges alike with its heartfelt storytelling and authentic representation, aligning perfectly with this year’s Communicator Awards theme: “Communication is Connection.”
“Receiving this recognition for a project so close to our hearts is incredibly meaningful,” said Brandstory’s Senior Brand Journalist JP Hervis. “We’re honored to partner with Gold Coast Down Syndrome and proud of the impact this series has had in celebrating inclusion and human connection.”
The Communicator Awards is one of the largest and most competitive programs honoring excellence in marketing and creative communications. This year’s Excellence honorees included global leaders like Netflix, NASA+, The Walt Disney Company, and Apple—placing Brandstory Communications in distinguished company.
